Lee Gene Correll, of Westbrook, passed away on January 8, 2018.

He was born on November 6, 1932, in Martinsville, Virginia, the son of Lee Pinkney Correll and Kate Elizabeth Davis Correll. In 1941, during World War II, his family moved to Mystic, and a memorable moment as a child was seeing the Charles W. Morgan sailing up the Mystic River, Lee introduced himself to the Captain, and as an adult he ended up marrying the Captain's daughter, Sally Holbrook. She predeceased him on November 16, 2012.

Lee was a graduate of The Morgan School in Clinton, and was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army. Following his military service he lived in the Shoreline Area, and worked as a milkman, and owned Westbrook Waste, and worked at John J. Doerrer Septic in Westbrook.

Lee is survived by his son Davis L. Correll of Clinton; grandson Samuel D. Correll, and his sister Laverne Correll Atkinson of Clinton.

Calling hours will be held on Friday January 19th from 6-8pm at Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Westbrook Fire Department. To sign the online guest book visit www.swanfh.com.
