Glee Irene Wahlquist, loving wife of David Wahlquist, left us on January 1, 2018, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

She leaves behind an affectionate daughter, Kristin Salerni, her husband Nick, and two grandchildren, Laura and Michael all of Newington, CT and a cousin, Ina Bretlau of Denmark.

Residents of Clinton, CT for over 17 years, Glee and her beloved Davy, in recent years divided their time between Clinton and their home in the Villages, Florida.

Glee was born on January 18, 1941 in Schenectady, NY to Ellen Virginia Brown and Einar John Boland. She was raised in Marblehead, MA and Martinsburg, WV. Glee is a graduate of Sibley Hospital School of Nursing, the University of Bridgeport and later the University of Pittsburgh with both an MSN and PhD. She held faculty positions at the University of Pittsburgh, Duquesne University and Yale University as well as Sacred Heart University, where she was Chairman of the Nursing Department. While there, she edited the publication of Rehabilitation Nursing and wrote articles for other medical journals. Most recently, Glee received an MSW degree from Southern CT State University and worked as a mental health counselor in several CT locations, prior to her retirement. Glee was an avid music lover and enjoyed playing both violin and piano. She was an active member of Holy Advent Church in Clinton and the Madison Winter Club. She spearheaded musical events at both places. Glee also loved flowers, animals and books. She will be missed by family and friends and is with God now.
