Gail Joan (Greenwood) King, 74, of South Windsor, beloved wife of David C. King for 54 years died on Monday May 15, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Gail was born in Norwalk, CT, on August 28, 1942, and was the daughter of the late Ralph and Helen (Mayes) Greenwood. She was raised in Norwalk, graduated from Norwalk High School in 1960 and then attended UCONN where she met her husband Dave. Gail devoted her life to raising her children and spending many enjoyable hours following the boys in their sports activities. As the boys grew older, she started her career at Creative Nursery School in South Windsor where she taught for many years. She was an avid UCONN women's basketball fan and loved to vacation in Maine. More recently, one would find her supporting her grandchildren at their various school activities. In addition to her loving husband, Gail is survived by her sons Scott King and his wife Susan of Somers and her son Brian King and his wife Amber of South Windsor; her grandchildren, Kevin King of Middletown, Ryan and Holly King of Somers and Andrew and Sean King of South Windsor. Gail was predeceased by her sister Patricia Regan as well as her two Bichon dogs Willie and Sharky who were very special to her. Funeral service and burial will be private at the request of the family.
