Frank "Poppy" Glemboski, 100, died peacefully at his home on Dec. 1, 2017. He was predeceased by his wife , Helen (Misiorek) Glemboski of 45 years in 1994. Frank is survived by his son Robert and his wife Lucille, daughter Cynthia Czarnecki and her husband Peter, and grandsons Stephen and David. Also, brothers Ed Glemboski and his wife Bertha, Thomas Glemboski, sister Helen Long, sister-in-law, Vera Glemboski, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Leo.
Frank served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater on the destroyer USS Ellet (DD-398). He was employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft (Willgoos Lab) for 40 years, retiring in 1980. He enjoyed spending time with his cherished grandsons and family, growing his award-winning tomatoes, feeding the birds and following the New York Yankees.
Please join the family directly in church for his funeral mass at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 5 at St. Paul Church, 2577 Main Street, Glastonbury, CT. Burial will follow at Neipsic Cemetery with full military honors. There are no calling hours. His wishes were that everyone take care of each other. So, in lieu of flowers, do something special for someone. The Glastonbury Funeral Home entrusted.
