Emilia (Dudziuk) Budnik, 97, of Hartford, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 1, 2017, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on February 13, 1920 in Racine, WI, she lived in Wisconsin with her parents, Stanislaw and Anna (Trus) Dudziuk, and her five siblings until the age of five. After Poland was liberated, she moved back to her parent’s homeland with her family. There she met her husband of 52 years, Czeslaw Budnik who predeceased her. Years later, she returned to the United States, settling in Hartford in 1980. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was a parishioner of SS. Cyril & Methodius Church in Hartford where she also sang in the choir. She leaves her three children, Sophie Bieniek and her husband Henry of Hartford, Andrew Budnik and his wife Elizabeth of Columbia, and Jerzy Budnik and his wife Ewa of East Hartford; seven grandchildren, Mark Baranowski, Matthew Bieniek, Agnes Budnik, Rafal Budnik and his fiancé Nicole Mulé, Marcin Budnik, Michael Budnik, and Michelle Budnik; and a great-granddaughter, Penelope Budnik. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her five siblings in Poland; and by a grandson, Joseph Baranowski. Her family will receive friends on Monday, December 4, 5-8 p.m., at the Waszkelewicz South Green Memorial Home, 43 Wethersfield Ave., Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, December 5, 10 a.m., at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, 61 Popieluszko Court, Hartford. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
