SHERIDAN. Donald P. Sheridan, 84, of West Suffield, CT, beloved husband of Jane (Martinez) Sheridan, passed away Thursday, December 28th, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, MA. Born February 9, 1933, in West Suffield, son of the late Thomas and Orilla (Brooks) Sheridan, he was a lifelong resident of West Suffield. Donald proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he served in the military police. He worked for Hamilton Standard for thirty years as a maintenance mechanic before retiring. Donald loved his country and cherished the freedoms that we enjoy every day. He valued a hard day’s work and enjoyed being outdoors in all seasons. He built his own home, split his own wood, and was an avid gardener. He was compassionate and would always lend a helping hand to others. Most of all, Donald was a devoted husband and father who loved his family. Besides his wife, Jane, of 61 years, he is survived by his two daughters, Karen Dardanelli of Suffield and Terri Zaczynski and her husband, Stephen, of Suffield. He also leaves three brothers, James Sheridan and his wife Eleanor of West Suffield, Daniel Sheridan and his wife Maureen of West Suffield, William Sheridan and his wife Barbara of North Carolina, a sister-in-law Marjorie Sheridan of West Suffield; six grandchildren, Rachael, David, Glenn, Todd Dardanelli, Kendra and Steven Zaczynski Jr. as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Linda Sheridan, a brother Thomas Sheridan Jr., two sisters, Kathryn Jenks, Mary Hastings and her late husband Harold, and a son-in-law, David Dardanelli. Special thanks to all his neighbors for their support and help over the years. And thank you to the Suffield ambulance and police.
