Ms. Darlene Marie Mercado, also known as "Darla," "Maruca," and "Marie" beloved daughter, grandchild, sister, aunt, and amazing friend, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 1, 2017 at the young age of 26.

Darlene was born October 6, 1991 a daughter to Jose Mercado and Arlene Rivera.

Darlene touched many lives, and her memory will always live on through her loving family and dear friends. Those who had the pleasure of having Darlene in their life knew her laughter was contagious and her jokes kept everyone smiling. Darlene was known as an avid reader. This love and passion for books led her to major in English & Communications with a minor in Creative Writing at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida. Darlene published her first book "Shadow Land" in 2011 while she obtained her Associates Degree while at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut. Darlene especially treasured the magical Harry Potter series! She also loved playing video games, anime, and watching, singing, or quoting all things Disney. To know Darlene was to love Darlene.

In addition to her parents, she leaves one sister; Joselyn Pinto of Orlando, FL, one niece; Aria Pinto of Orlando, FL, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
