Andre J. "Andy" Lefebvre, 83, of Bloomfield, beloved husband of 62 years to Florence (Gillette) Lefebvre, passed away as a result of surgical complications on March 5, 2018. He was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec in Canada on January 2, 1935, son of the late Leopold and Juliette (Berthiaume) Lefebvre, and came to the United States as a small child. Andy later received his associate's degree in criminal justice and graduated from the State Police Academy in Bethany, CT. He enjoyed his career in law enforcement and retired in 1985 as a Lieutenant with the Bloomfield Police Department. Andy's caring nature extended beyond law enforcement as he volunteered as a firefighter with the Blue Hills Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Andy was known as a dependable helper to anyone and everyone-family, friend, or stranger. He was a member of St. Damien of Molokai Parish in Windsor and attended mass at St. Gabriel Church. Andy was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family above all else and cherished summers spent with them at his home in Vermont. In addition to his wife, Florence Lefebvre, he leaves his children, Elizabeth "Ann" Tardif, Michael Lefebvre, James Lefebvre, and Cynthia M. Forader; seven grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Tardif, James Tardif (Ashley), Michael Lefebvre, Jr. (Pam), Christen Alves (Joao), Andrew Lefebvre (Elizabeth), Jessica Pozzato (Vincent), Merrick Forader, Jr. (Ariel); three great-grandchildren, Victoria and Kevin Tardif and Amalia Alves as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Andy was predeceased by his two siblings and son-in-law, Merrick Forader. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 9:00 am at St. Gabriel Church, 379 Broad St., Windsor with burial following in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
