Albinas Grumadas, 61, beloved husband to Alma (Miselyte) Grumadiene of Kensington, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017, surrounded by his family, after a long and courageous battle with thyroid cancer. He was born in Kaunas Region of Lithuania and was son to the late Aleksas and Jadvyga (Ziniausikaite) Grumadas. He came to the United States in 2000 and worked very hard to provide for his family. Albinas worked at Admill Machine Company for the last 10 years. He was diagnosed with stage 4 thyroid cancer in 2009 around the same time when his first grandchild was born. He had a very close connection with his grandchildren, Adrian and Eva.
He enjoyed nature, his backyard and house improvements. He was a handy man, people came to him in need, whether it was at home or at work.
He will be remembered for his honesty, dedication, warmth and strong will. His family was his number one priority, he is going to be dearly missed. If love could only have saved him, he never would have died.
In additional to his beloved wife, Alma, of 35 years, Albinas is survived and will be dearly missed by his daughter Vita Dyrkacz and her husband Thomas Dyrkacz of Kensington; grandchildren Adrian Dyrkacz and Eva Dyrkacz of Kensington and sister Regina Juskeviciene of Lithuania.
Funeral services will be held January 6, 2018 at 10 am in Holy Trinity Parish, 53 Capital Ave., Hartford. There are no calling hours. In accordance with his wishes, Albinas will be buried in his homeland of Lithuania.
