Bob was an inspiration to me and many others. His work and play ethics were unsurpassed. He was one of the most knowledgeable people in railroading and more than willing to share that knowledge with anyone who needed it. Nobody worked harder at the gym than Bob. I admire the way he faced Parkinson's head on, not letting that nasty disease hold him back. You are a hero to me. I look forward to playing golf with you in Paradise. I am going to need a mulligan on both sides and a stroke a hole.
God speed, God bless.

Bob was a true gentleman and a joy to work with, a true professional who made it easy to spend countless hours together at work seem like minutes . Loved talking sports and RR with him and will dearly miss his humor .
