Priscilla “Pat” (Reed) Barbero, 97, of Vernon, beloved wife of the late Alfred Barbero, passed away peacefully at Woodlake at Tolland Health Center. Priscilla was the daughter of the late Andrew and Bertha (Leonard) Reed. She was born in Ellington and moved to Vernon where she has resided for the past eighty years. Priscilla was former President of the Hebron American Legion Auxiliary, member of the Union Congregational Church’s Women’s Fellowship, and Young at Heart. She was a trustee of the Douglas Library in Hebron, CT. Known for her hats, and her ability to befriend any stranger, she loved to read and travel, having visited Portugal, Hawaii, and many other US states. Priscilla enjoyed being with her family and was especially fond of the memories she had of the family of friends from East Street. She was a prolific diary writer, filling notebook after notebook with memories from her long life, leaving those thoughts for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to cherish. Priscilla leaves behind her children: Pam Trout and her husband Lester of Laveen Arizona, Anthony Barbero and his wife Mary of East Hartford, and Peggy Bologna and her husband Vincent of Vernon; her grandchildren: Michael and his wife Vasana of Laveen Arizona, Michelle Ducat and her husband Larry of Brooklyn Connecticut, Paula Labell and her husband Larry of Norwood Massachusetts, Kevin Barbero and his wife Melissa of Branford Connecticut, Lisa Mahoney and her husband Bob of Maryland, Daniel Bologna and his wife Kelly of Coventry Connecticut, and Elizabeth Bologna of Rockville; her great grandchildren: Melissa, Alice, Nyla, Heidi, Eli, Gabriel, Amalya, Declan, Colton, Bradon, Darren, Kevin, Savanna, and Jude; as well as fifteen nieces and nephews. Priscilla was pre-deceased by her brothers Everett and Edward Clark, and her sisters Dorothy and Helen Clark. Priscilla’s family will receive friends for calling hours at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd. (Route 83), Vernon on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 4-7 pm. A funeral Service will be held at Union Church 3 Elm Street, Vernon on Tuesday February 13, 2018 at 10 am. Burial will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery.
