Anna Vespaziani Piroli, 93 of Northford, formerly of West Haven died peacefully on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Yale-New Haven Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Lorenzo Piroli. Anna was born in Supino, Province of Frosinone, Italy on March 3, 1924, a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Silvia Eros Vespaziani. She had resided in Northford for the past twenty years, and had previously lived in West Haven for twenty five years. While in Italy, Anna was a nurse in Colleferro (Roma) for several years before moving to West Haven in 1973. She then worked for the former Henry Richards Co. of Hamden for several years until 1982. Anna was a longtime member of the San Cataldo Society of New Haven. She is survived by two daughters, Luigina (Franco) Mallone of Collefero (RM) and Silvia (Giovanni) D'Angelo of Northford and one son, Luigi (Rina) Piroli, also of Northford, seven grandchildren, Gloria (Massimo) Proietti, Gianluca (Monia) Mallone, Anna Maria (Kyle) Habiniak, Marco D'Angelo, Lorenzo and Mauro Piroli and Roberto (Federica) Piroli, and ten grandchildren, Luca, Michela, Valerio, Alessandra, Cristian, Eliana, Dante, Luciano, Stella and Lorenzo. She was predeceased by one sister, Giacomina Caprara, and four brothers, Cesare, Ferdinando, Augusto and Giovanni Vespaziani. Anna's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, January 5th from 8:15 to 10:15 a.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Her funeral procession will leave from the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in St. Monica Church (St. Ambrose Parish), 1331 Middletown Ave., Northford. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
