I was so saddened to learn of the passing of this wonderful man, Irwin Zagoren. I have many memories of family get-togethers, through the cousins club, family events and beyond. I have thought of him often and had been wondering how he was when I stumbled upon this news. He was such a kind man and I loved his smile :) My condolences to everyone. He will not be forgotten.

Dear Mrs. Zagoren and family; I was just looking through the Middletown Press Obituaries in search of a friends mother when I saw this. I am sorry to learn of Irwin's passing. My heart is sad that I am just finding this out and was not at his service to support you. I will always remember Irwin as a dear neighbor and a wonderful man. I will share this with my sisters who I know will feel as I do. Mrs. Zagoren you and your family have my love and I will always remember the celebrations our families shared. Sincerely Adrienne DiMauro

Dear Mrs Zagoren, Jeffrey and Barbara...I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Zagoren. He was always so friendly to me, MaryRose and Eddie as kids growing up as your backyard neighbors. I'll always remember him riding his sit down lawn mower...and letting us go sledding down your backyard as kids. May all your wonderful memories comfort you during this difficult time. Sincerely, Geline Resnisky O'Connor

Irvin & Lee opened their home to me while I was in Middletown attending a 1953 Woodrow Wilson High School reunion. Irwin introduced me to a book that reinforced my values of living a good life and leaving a good name. Irwin lived that way. My condolences to Lee and the family.

Lea - So sorry to hear about the passing of Irwin. He was a very good guy. Because of my involvement with the Zagoren Family over the years while I lived in Middletown, I had many opportunities to interact with him. If it wasn't helping him with the bomb shelter, it was working together to do something around the house so I could take a dip in the pool. Later on it was working with him on the Synagogue Board. He always brought a smile to my face and occasionally some sweat!
Please extend my sincerest condolences to your children and the rest of the family.

It has been many years since the Russell St. days of running up the hill to Zagoren's to buy every little thing we needed where we were always greeted by a friendly smile. Our sincere sympathy to all the family, may you all be comforted by happy memories and may God Bless you all. Mike and Lea (Gessaro) Salafia
