Tribute & Message From The Family

Stanley A. “Stosh” Cipkas, Sr., 90, of Bloomfield, beloved husband of Elizabeth (Theodore) Cipkas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the McLean Home in Simsbury. Born in Suffield to the late William and Rose (Kawalko) Cipkas, he lived most of his life in Bloomfield and served his country proudly with the US Merchant Marines during WWII. Stanley worked in maintenance at KAMAN for many years and was one of the original founding fathers, with the help of Charlie Kaman and Manny Alves, and all the hard work they did to help start the Fidelco Foundation as it is today. He took pride in the work he did from gardening to his workmanship to his family. He will be dearly missed. Besides his wife Elizabeth “Betty”, of Bloomfield, he is survived by his sons, William Cipkas and Stanley Cipkas Jr. and his wife Jennifer; his daughter Jo-Ann Jones; his grandchildren, Richard, Joshua, Stanley III, Christina, Stacy, Josalyn, Jesseca, Jaimie, Alexa and Samantha; and his great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Brianna, Kensy, Gracie and Johnathan. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son Michael Cipkas, his brothers, Edward and Joseph, and his sisters, Mary, Pauline, Claire and Helen. His family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the McLean Home for their compassionate care of Stanley. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 6 from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave Windsor. Family and friends may gather at 10 AM, Thursday, December 7 at the funeral home to follow in a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Bloomfield. Burial with military honors will follow at Granby Cemetery.
