Condolence & Memory Journal

Howie was a constant presence in my life, and I will miss him. Ann, Howie and Audrey were neighbors at Backus Court, and remained friends for over 60 years - I am grateful that he lived a long life and died at home, under good care, with love.

I was just thinking of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis the other day, wondering if they were still in Wallingford, remembering my childhood on Wayne Road and Howie and Ann being our next door neighbors. Life passes so quickly, but I have fond memories of Howie and Ann, all the fun in your inground pool, how funny and nice Howie was to the neighborhood kids. Your home and yard always so inviting and charming. Sending my heartfelt compassion to Ann and family.

My dear Pop Pop,

I know if you were here now, you would tell me not to cry and that everything would be okay. You always looked on the bright side of things and more than that, you always believed in me. I never had to look far for a supporter-- I know you always had my back. No matter what kind of crazy shannigans I got up to, you always smiled and laughed right along with me. I am so blessed that I got to spend the last two weekends with you and that my children got to spend time with their great Pop Pop before he left this world. Words are hard to find to express how much you were loved and how much we all miss you. I am finding comfort in knowing you went peacefully and that I was there with you as you were getting ready to make your heavenly trip. I know your amazing spirit has been lifted and your energy is still here with us. I will be looking for you in every cloud. I love you.
